# Instructions:
01 - Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground ginger, and black pepper.
03 - Add cold butter cubes and use a pastry blender or fork to cut in until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
04 - Whisk together buttermilk, egg, and maple syrup in a separate bowl.
05 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients; stir gently until combined and a shaggy dough forms.
06 - Add chicken, fresh ginger, green onions, and cheddar cheese if using; fold in lightly, avoiding overmixing.
07 - Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, drop eight equal portions of dough onto the baking sheet with space between each.
08 - Bake for 16–18 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown on top.
09 - While biscuits bake, combine melted butter and maple syrup for brushing in a small bowl.
10 - Remove biscuits from oven and immediately brush tops with maple butter. Serve warm.
